My name is Keri Anthony and I am a 31-year-old Austin resident. I thought of the idea for this site while watching the Today Show. There was a couple giving away their house in an essay contest because they were having troubles selling their house on the open market. As the concept turned in my brain, I tried to plan a way to streamline the process and to make it more exciting for the home-owner as well as the contest entrant. As the project grew, we realized that this site could be used for so much more. Our vision is to enable Contestreet to become a contest venue for so much more than a venue for homeowner to 'give away' their homes. Contestreet can be a venue for anyone who wants to raise money for their product or cause.

For our first contest we are giving away a house. Many people have asked "Is this a scam? How can you give away a house?" It is actually very simple. Contestreet has made arrangements, with the homeowners, that they will keep the first block of entry fees in exchange for giving away their house. Of course, all fees are kept in a secure escrow account until the completion of the contest. A minimum amount of entries are required otherwise the contest will be cancelled. In the event that the contest is cancelled ... have no worries ... all entry fees will be returned through PayPal. Simple right?
